Peggy Haymes

A native of Winston-Salem, NC, Peggy Haymes grew up riding a bike and loving to write.

A graduate of Furman University, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Wake Forest University, she is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as an ordained minister. She is the author of a number of books as well as having contributed to numerous other books and magazines. For ten years she was the Editor of Reflections Daily Devotional guide. She is also a popular speaker, preacher and retreat leader.

She has had two hymn texts selected for the new (2010) hymnal, Celebrating Grace .

In 2005 she was awarded the Richard Furman Baptist Heritage Award by Furman University in recognition of her work that is characterized by compassion, creativity and excellence.

She lives in Winston-Salem with her cat, Rosie, and her dogs, Oakley and Ralphie. She enjoys running, biking, triathlons, reading, travel and cheering on her favorite teams.

Joseph A. Haymes
     
A native of Lynchburg, Virginia, Joe Haymes has spent most of his adult life in Winston-Salem, NC. During World War II he served as a sniper in the Yankee Division of Patton's Third Army, participating in that army's legendary march across France.

Before and after his retirement as President and CEO of Long, Haymes and Carr Advertising he pursued a variety of interests, including racing sports cars, golf, sailing, painting and woodworking. He wrote a column for the Winston-Salem Journal (look for a collection of these columns to be published by West Summit publishing later this year) and is the author of the novel, Desperate Summer.

He has been honored by the Art Institute of Pittsburgh as one of their distinguished alumni.
